Transfer to your hotel in Waikiki. This evening mix and mingle
with your traveling companions at the 7:00 p.m. Globus Signature
Welcome Reception combining fun and fine cuisine. Sample an
abundance of Hawaiian specialties while your Tour Director
prepares you for your upcoming adventure. (SR)

breakfast get-together with your Tour Director to review
activities scheduled throughout your Hawaiian stay. The balance
of the day is free to relax, swim, enjoy water sports, or laze
in the sun. Maybe take the optional excursion to the Polynesian
Cultural Center, featuring authentic island arts, crafts,
history, music, and a dinner buffet and spectacular Polynesian
show featuring more than 100 performers. (B)
Day 3 Honolulu. Pearl Harbor and City Sightseeing. (Sun.)
Begin with a tour of Pearl Harbor’s famous battleship row.
Listen to the narration of the dramatic air attack of December
7, 1941, and visit the USS ARIZONA and the impressive MEMORIAL
to the 1,102 men still entombed. You will also have an
opportunity to visit the MUSEUM, which is an excellent way to
learn about Pearl Harbor Day, the Japanese strategy and military
craft, and the individuals involved in the attack. As a partner
with the Traveler's Conservation Foundation, Globus has chosen
this museum for preservation and restoration funding. Then on to
Punchbowl National Cemetery. Other sights include Chinatown,
Hawaii's state capitol, the royal Iolani Palace, and King
Kamehameha's Statue. This evening maybe enjoy an optional sunset
cruise with dinner, Hawaiian cocktails, and splendid views of
the glittering Waikiki coastline and Diamond Head. (B)
Day 4 Honolulu-Kona. (Mon.)
Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to the "Big
Island." Upon arrival, visit the KONA COFFEE LIVING HISTORY
FARM. You will have an opportunity to learn and experience the
history of Kona’s coffee industry and the remarkable story of
the pioneers who established these farms. Then transfer to your
oceanfront resort on the sunny west coast of Hawaii's largest
island, whose total land mass is more than twice the combined
area of all the other islands. Maybe spend the afternoon
relaxing poolside. (B,D)
Day 5 Kona Volcanoes N.P.-Kohala.
(Tue.) Today visit HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK. See Kilauea
Crater, rising 4,090 feet above a volcanic wonderland of
steaming fire pits, lava tubes, and fern forests. Lunch at the
Volcano House. Then head back along the scenic Hamakua Coast
through Parker Ranch to arrive at the hotel. (B,L)
Day 6 Kona. (Wed.) A day
where you decide the pace. You can opt to relax at your splendid
seaside resort or perhaps do some independent sightseeing or
enjoy one of our optionals. For a once in a lifetime experience,
take an optional helicopter flight over Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park and see the magnificent active lava flow. This
evening enjoy a lavish luau feast, then sit back and watch the
captivating Polynesian revue of dancers and musicians. (B,D)
Day 7 Kohala-Maui. (Thu.)
Transfer to the airport for the short and scenic flight to
Kahului on the "Valley Island" of Maui. Drive to the lush IAO
VALLEY to see the Iao Needle, a spectacular volcanic spire. Then
to Lahaina, once a whaling center and the capital of the
Hawaiian monarchy. Continue to Maui's resort area of Kaanapali,
your home for the next two nights. Balance of the day at
leisure. (B)
Day 8 Maui. Haleakala
National Park. (Fri.) This morning is dedicated to HALEAKALA
NATIONAL PARK, site of the huge volcanic Haleakala Crater, known
to the islanders as the "House of the Sun." The park is in a
setting of stunning natural beauty, ranging from cinder cones to
dense rain forest. In 1980 this fragile native ecosystem was
designated an International Biosphere Reserve. Plenty of time in
the afternoon to relax and enjoy your resort’s facilities. From
mid-December to mid-April a humpback whale watching cruise is
available. This evening your Tour Director hosts a special
Globus Farewell Celebration Dinner. Wonderful conversation and
cuisine make the perfect finale for your vacation. (B,D)
